Emily Berk, LSW

Licensed Social Worker
Emily Berk is a Licensed Social Worker who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based care. Throughout her clinical training in community mental health settings, she has had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. Emily is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and know they do not have to face life’s challenges alone.

Emily has a special interest in working with adolescents and adults experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, phobias, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. She understands that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming and admires the courage it takes to ask for support. Emily believes that a genuine therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth. Her goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward with hope and confidence.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting children and families through behavioral and relational challenges that are crucial to a child’s or adolescent’s overall development. I understand that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, and I deeply admire the courage it takes to seek support. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice, as I believe it is one of the most powerful tools for healing and growth.

Emily’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, conversational, and individualized. She recognizes that every person is unique and tailors treatment to each client’s strengths, needs, and goals. She works alongside clients to better understand the challenges they are facing, develop practical coping strategies, and build the confidence to create meaningful and lasting change. Emily also believes therapy does not have to feel overly formal. When appropriate, she incorporates warmth, authenticity, and a little humor into the therapeutic process to help clients feel comfortable and at ease.
Outside of the therapy room, Emily is passionate about OCD advocacy and increasing awareness of evidence-based treatment. She serves as a board member for OCD Pennsylvania, facilitates OCD support groups through NAMI Montgomery County, advocates with the International OCD Foundation, and has presented at regional and national OCD conferences. She believes education, advocacy, and community support are powerful tools for reducing stigma and helping individuals access effective mental health care.
