My name is Lauren Wenclewicz, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) based in Yardley, PA. I specialize in working with children (ages 4-12) and teenagers (ages 13-18) who face challenges such as hyperactivity, attention problems, lack of focus, and school difficulties. In addition, I address issues like impulsivity, oppositional defiance, anxiety (including social anxiety and generalized anxiety), and adjustment problems (such as divorce or changes in school or family dynamics).
I also have experience working with clients on the ASD spectrum, focusing on social skills like setting boundaries, empathy, and perspective-taking. My approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, along with strength-based and solution-focused methods. These techniques are designed to challenge negative thoughts, emphasize strengths, and help clients focus on solutions rather than problems.
Lauren began her career as a therapist in 2019, transitioning from teaching to counseling. Her mission quickly became helping children and adolescents in various settings. She discovered a passion for supporting those struggling with ADHD, ODD, ASD, and anxiety. In 2019, Lauren earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Following this, she obtained her LBS (Licensed Behavioral Specialist) and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
Lauren focuses on working with children and adolescents who exhibit signs of hyperactivity, impulsivity, oppositional defiance, and anxiety. She understands how these challenges affect individuals across different settings. With her experience in both individual and group therapy, Lauren primarily uses CBT techniques. Her background, both in the classroom and therapeutic settings, enables her to meet the needs of individuals and families effectively.
