Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Behavioral Specialist
Alexis
Hi, my name is Alexis. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist with extensive experience supporting adults, children, and families from diverse backgrounds. Throughout my career, I have worked in various therapeutic roles and treatment settings, offering compassionate care and guidance to help clients navigate challenges effectively.
I am deeply passionate about working with children, parents, and families. My therapeutic approaches include family systems therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, attachment-based therapy, and play therapy. I believe that each family member plays a vital role in the dynamics of the family unit, and I strive to address individual needs while fostering harmony and respect within the family system. My goal is to enhance communication, strengthen relationships, and help families move forward together as a functional unit.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting children and families through behavioral and relational challenges that are crucial to a child’s or adolescent’s overall development. I understand that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, and I deeply admire the courage it takes to seek support. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice, as I believe it is one of the most powerful tools for healing and growth.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, meeting each client where they are and tailoring my methods to their unique needs. Drawing from systemic, collaborative, and strengths-based perspectives, I aim to empower my clients to develop self-awareness, identify solutions, and create a more fulfilling life. I also remain sensitive to cultural practices and considerations, ensuring that my work respects the diverse backgrounds of the individuals and families I support.
I specialize in working with children (ages 3-9), adolescents (ages 10-19), and young adults (ages 18-25) who face challenges such as:
