Therapy For Children

In-person appointments in Yardley, PA
At MilestoneCW, our pediatric specialists help children manage a range of daily emotions. Emotions like anger, sadness, anxiety, and jealousy can feel overwhelming for kids. These emotions often show up as behaviors, such as acting out, withdrawing, or regressing.
In therapy, we work with children (ages 3-12) to build on their existing skills. Our goal is to improve communication and develop effective coping strategies. Therapy may include activities like drawing, role-playing, or play. These activities allow children to use their strengths while expanding their emotional awareness.
We focus on identifying emotions and teaching coping skills. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques help children recognize thought patterns and understand how these affect their emotions. Play is used in CBT to engage children and guide them toward therapy goals.
Children’s mental health therapy also involves parents and caregivers. Their involvement is essential, as they learn skills to support their child at home. Therapists collaborate with adults, modeling techniques and helping them understand their child’s emotions to provide daily support.

Lauren Wenclewicz, LPC

Lauren Wenclewicz, LPC
My name is Lauren Wenclewicz. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Behavioral Specialist (LBS) based in Yardley, PA. I work with children (ages 5-12) and teenagers (ages 13-18). They face challenges such as hyperactivity, impulsivity, oppositional defiance, and anxiety. These issues include attention problems, lack of focus, school difficulties, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and adjustment issues like divorce or changes in school or family dynamics. I also have experience working with clients on the autism spectrum. My focus is on developing social skills, such as social boundaries, empathy, and perspective-taking. In therapy, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques along with strength-based and solution-focused approaches. These methods help challenge negative thoughts and encourage clients to focus on their strengths and solutions, rather than problems.
